A documentation of Matt Eddy's attempt to go from Lynn Massachusetts to Long Beach California in an electric wheelchair for the Guinness Book of World Records. More information about the trip and donations can be made at http://www.officialmattsplace.org/ Throughout the trip I am also doing my own documentary which will consist of digital photography, video, and possibly film. Stay tuned! |
Sure enough we got stuck with second shift of bike riding 7 miles uphill. Jerome is a town set literally on a mountain overlooking a huge valley and all of Sedona. It was so steep we put the bikes away at one point and walked the rest. Then all of the sudden a Jerome cop pulled us over. He said it was illegal for us to walk there and if we were going to be walking we should of been facing traffic ! On the other side of the road ( Arizona state law) Ron told him that if a bike can be on a wheelchair can be on the road and then the cop told us he was going to give Ron and I citations for walking over the white line ! Finally the chief of police showed up and then everything became ok. We got a police escort to the end of their jurisdiction. No place to stay at night though, and we needed food so we ended up staying in Prescott. Beautiful town but what a biiitch to climb. Good riddins Jerome !
