A documentation of Matt Eddy's attempt to go from Lynn Massachusetts to Long Beach California in an electric wheelchair for the Guinness Book of World Records. More information about the trip and donations can be made at http://www.officialmattsplace.org/ Throughout the trip I am also doing my own documentary which will consist of digital photography, video, and possibly film. Stay tuned! |
It was 111 degrees today. Matt cut it short at 23 miles since the camera only is physically suppose to last up to 104 degreees ! The team went grocery shopping , Ron grabbed some uber cheesy movies, and now we are headed to a campground in Caifornia. Technically we have not rode thru California yet so I am not counting us as officially in it yet, tommarow for sure. It is National Talk Like a Pirate Day so apparently the cool thing is to tell the wench what to do ! (me) We stayed at Echo Lodge just through the mountains in the Parker area. It is right on the Colorado River, a nice aquamarine green this time of year. On one side of the river is Arizona and the other side is Colorado. We got here early and spent the day by the river and then the pool meeting people. Mix in some $2 margaritas and some fresh food and we were good as gold. We walked the girls at night, I took a night swim only made it a third of the way to the other side but hey I tried. Met the cutest old couple , both with their dentures out . The old lady said she was going to pee on Maia. They were a riot. Farting, burping, the whole nine yards- we asked how long they had been married and the lady said 2 days. alztimers is great she said, every morning I wake up I have a new boyfriend. They had just seen 2 burros walk by minutes before we got there, we were told to watch out because they love small dogs ! Early that day we met a super nice family who bought us some drinks, had a lovely dog named Kingston and where just really fun to hang out with !
