A documentation of Matt Eddy's attempt to go from Lynn Massachusetts to Long Beach California in an electric wheelchair for the Guinness Book of World Records. More information about the trip and donations can be made at http://www.officialmattsplace.org/ Throughout the trip I am also doing my own documentary which will consist of digital photography, video, and possibly film. Stay tuned! |
Apparently my great uncle went here when he was my age, to the Palm Desert and never left. I can see why, beautiful Palm Trees, sunshine , and the mountains right next door. I do not think I could take the heat though . I found a little black bow tie barrette and I am keeping it as a reminder of him . I could tell we where getting to someplace nice when the street names began to change to places like ” Frank Sinatra Blvd. and Bob Hope Blvd.” Bill Crosby’s restaurant is here too, apparently that also it a big deal. We rode along the sidewalks here which I have to say , have been some of the nicest maintained we have been on . There were barely any bumps, tended landscapes, and flowers all along side. They were pretty curvy though but I think it was worth it, even though it took longer. Then we got to the mountain, oh boy the f-ing mountain. Once the top of my hands started to sweat, my chin started to drip, and I got sweat drops in my eyeball I called it quits for the day. Ron and Matt pumped out a few more miles and we are that much closer to being done. Kinda humid here today which is weird for this area. I feel like a bum though for quitting so I think I might go take a bike ride now …ciao
